Mike Imprevento comes from New York City and lived in Brooklyn, Queens, Da Bronx and Long Island before moving to Hampton Roads in 1983. He worked his way through school doing a series of jobs from janitor to landscape helper but fondly remembers summers driving a taxi in and around New York City in the late 1970s. “New York City was broke and dirty but had a character that is unforgettable and I miss the view from a Checker cab on those summer nights!!!”
Mike attended Fordham University and Hofstra Law School and was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy serving as a Lieutenant in the Judge Advocates General’s Corps at the Naval Legal Service Office Norfolk Virginia from 1983-1986. Mike has been practicing law here ever since and is currently with the firm of Breit Drescher Imprevento & Walker and practices in the areas of products liability, personal injury including trucking and motorcycle accidents and employment law. Mike serves as General Counsel for several police and fire unions and coalitions in Hampton Roads. Mike has been formally honored by a local PBA for his efforts in support of police causes and an award in his name will be given to select officers and civilian employees in the future.
Mike has been on air with us for over fifteen years and is a regular fill-in for Tony Macrini’s Morning Show as well as his own Show on Sundays from 4-7 pm. Mike is also frequently asked to fill in on Saturdays and Holidays when time is available. Frequently called a “Renaissance Man”, Mike has experience and facility in talking everything from law and the Constitution to guns, cars and motorcycles. He has been featured in several local articles on talk radio and local media critic Larry Bonko has featured him in his column, calling his on-air performance “remarkable”. Mike has raced motorcycles, shoots high power rifle matches ( he is a strong Second Amendment advocate and champion of veterans causes), is a great home cook and a proud husband of Yolanda who owns Beach Belly’s Yoga in Oceanview and Pace Insurance on Military Highway in Norfolk. His daughter Alyssa lives and works in New York City.
