How We Work

Our patients receive personalized care that’s based on specialized testing designed to give them a blueprint back to health. We break it down into several tests.

MRI Evaluation

Before we get to work on helping you, we must know what is wrong. That’s where an MRI Evaluation comes in! MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and it uses pulses of energy–within a magnetic field created by two powerful magnets, to make pictures of your bones, tissues, and organs. The human body is made up of 60% water, and those water molecules have protons at their core which serve as magnets. Water molecules do not follow set patterns, however when they are influenced by the powerful magnets within the MRI, it causes them to align and allows the computer to create a detailed image for the technician.

There are many benefits to utilizing an MRI. MRI’s are non-invasive, painless, radiation free, and can be used to detect a multitude of things including:

  • specific types of heart problems
  • spinal cord abnormalities & injury
  • joint injury
  • certain diseases
  • tumors and/or cysts

Endocrine Assessment

We look at several markers in an endocrine assessment. The first we look at is…

  • Functional Blood Chemistry Evaluation – in most traditional family practices, they use a baseline of 20 markers. At Core Health, our evaluation utilizes 70 markers. We look at lipid status, thyroid function, blood sugar dis-regulation, and inflammatory status. Inflammation is the culprit behind all chronic disease–dementia, thyroid, arthritis, heart disease, and diabetes–to name a few. In addition, we look at how your gut is functioning, your iron levels/signs of anemia, and your urine.
  • Adrenal Stress Testing – Chronic stress can lead to the adrenal glands getting fatigued. This can lead to many chronic conditions such as hormonal imbalances, fatigue and insomnia. One test simply won’t do, it takes several tests to diagnose adrenal fatigue. At Core Health we use a combination of testing and feedback from the patient (questionnaire) to determine the best course of treatment. Some of these tests may include Cortisol, Thyroid, ACTH, Free T3, and TSH so that we can gain a 360 degree perspective on all contributing factors
  • Reproductive Hormone Panels –  Our hormones work together like a symphony, and if an instrument is not working properly, then the music is off key. Awareness is the first step. Depending upon what the reason you’re seeing us for, we may test you for progesterone, estrogen, and/or testosterone.
  • Genetic Testing
    The two big ones are:

    • MTHFR testing – Complete loss of energy and the body loses the ability to detoxify and absorb nutrition
    • Celiac testing

Immunological Assessment

The gut is responsible for 78% of the body’s immune system. With this is mind, Core Health Solutions rounds out our testing by doing the following:

  • Food sensitivity – Sometimes we can mistake the signals our bodies send us, and miss a food allergy or sensitivity. Core Health Solutions tests for both food allergies and food sensitivity. The foods we eat can easily trigger an autoimmune disorder
  • Leaky Gut Evaluation – Because 78% of your immune system is based in your gut, it’s important to determine whether or not your digestive system is in good health. Leaky Gut Syndrome is caused when the stomach’s lining is compromised resulting in undigested food particles to enter the blood stream.
  • Autoimmune Panel – When it comes to functional medicine, the testing can be endless. There are different panels for every auto immune condition.
    Some examples would be:

    • Intestinal permeability
    • Diabetes reactivity
    • Joint reactivity
    • Wheat/Gluten sensitivity
    • Neurological reactivity

To name a few, but it doesn’t stop there.

Stool Evaluation

Gastrointestinal complaints are frequent, and many issues can be understood better from the state of your stool. We have a 15-22 parameter analysis that non-invasively evaluates the state of your gastrointestinal functioning.

We have two panels we use for evaluation. They test for several issues–yeast and fungi, parasites, gluten, egg, soy, cows milk, tapeworm, h-pylori–(research this), several forms of bacteria, and giardia, to name a few.
